The paintings of Fikl represent the product of a powerful and profound innermost impulse. They were created out of the artists “obligation” as reflections of his existential and spiritual tension. This natural psychological necessity bears the signature and condition of true art.
Despite the masterful pictorial skills, the elegant subjects and the sumptuous composition in these works of art, we find no trace of hedonistic relaxation, gratuitous celebration or aesthetic formalism. What we find is a grave and hidden, even threatening mystery, obtained through the unexpected surreal association and tense ambiguity of the final semantics.
The figures and characters in his paintings, the nudes, the bulls, the bull-terriers, the horses, the furniture, all chosen
with economy and good judgement, are materializations of an anguished and agressive archetypal collective, as
well as projections of the artist’s sensitivity and strain as the inner world of the subject is confronted with the world,
the spirit of the artist with the spirit of the world.
Fikl’s works of art express the artist’s existential aspirations, the latent cosmic anguish of the present, the gravity,
mystery and fatality of existence.
Picturile lui Fikl sunt produse ale unui puternic și profund impuls lăuntric. Ele au fost create deoarece artistul a fost
„obligat” să le creeze, ca reflecții ale tensiunilor sale spirituale existențiale. Această necesitate psihologică naturală
este marca, dar și condiția adevăratei arte.
În pofida măiestriei tehnicii picturale, a eleganței recuzitei și a somptuozității compoziției, nu găsim în aceste lucrări
nici urmă de relaxare hedonistă, celebrare gratuită sau formalism estetizant. Ceea ce găsim este un mister ascuns,
grav, chiar amenințător, obținut prin asocierile neașteptate de factură suprarealistă și prin ambiguitatea tensionantă
a semanticii finale.
Figurația, personajele picturilor, nuduri, tauri, bull-terrieri, cai, obiecte de mobilier, toate cu economie și judicios
alese, sunt materializări ale unor angoase și agresivități arhetipale colective, cât și proiecții ale sensibilității și tensiunilor
artistului, atunci când lumea lăuntrică a subiectului se confruntă cu lumea, spiritul artistului cu spiritul lumii.
Lucrările lui Fikl exprimă aspirația existențială a artistului, angoasa cosmică latentă a prezentului, gravitatea, misterul
și fatalitatea ființării.
